My father passed away at a very young age. I have already lived 17 years more than my dad did. I did not know my dad very well, but one thing I know is that had he not died back then and if he were still alive today, I would want him to know just how important fathers are.

I don’t get to go see my dad’s final resting place very often. As a matter of fact, this was the first time I had visited the place where my dad lies since that fatal winter day when he was placed there. I was 17 years old the last time I was this close to my dad. So it was natural for me to break down and cry a few tears. After all, I had my three very young sons with me. It still breaks my heart to think about the fact that my father was never to be a grandfather and would never hold and hug my boys.

This is but a simple tribute to my father and my grandfather. May they Rest In Peace.
