Day 31 – God Teaches Us to Walk With Discernment

Reading: Leviticus 9–11

Big Picture

Leviticus 9 begins with joy. God’s glory appears, fire falls, and the people rejoice. It is a moment of awe and closeness—God among His people.

But almost immediately, Leviticus 10 brings sobering loss. Careless approach leads to tragedy. Then Leviticus 11 turns toward daily discernment—what is clean and unclean, ordinary choices that shape everyday life.

Together, these chapters teach a steady truth: nearness to God is a gift, and walking with Him requires attentiveness. God’s presence is not fragile, but it is holy. He invites His people to live thoughtfully, not casually, in relationship with Him.

The Manly Training Lens

Grace teaches discernment, not fear.

God is not pulling away from His people in these chapters. He is teaching them how to live with Him. The boundaries are not punishments; they are guidance. They help God’s people learn what aligns with life in His presence.

Here Christ is revealed. Jesus fulfills what these laws pointed toward—not by withdrawing holiness, but by embodying it. He makes clean what was unclean and teaches His followers how to live wisely, from the inside out.

God wants His people to know Him, not just experience moments of closeness. Knowing Him shapes how we walk, choose, and respond each day.

Reflection Question

Where might God be inviting you to slow down and practice discernment in your everyday choices?

Final Thought

God is holy.
Grace invites closeness.
And knowing Him teaches us how to walk wisely.

We move forward—not careless or afraid—but attentive to the God who walks with us daily.
