Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself – National Adoption Month

Every year National Adoption Month is celebrated, encouraged and promoted during November. It is God’s time to shine and to help men, women and two-parent families adopt orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children from all over the world. Every child matters to our Heavenly Father irrespective of their age, gender, nationality or social condition. Every salty tear that comes from a little one who is innocent in the eyes of the Lord that suffers from a disease, malnutrition, poverty, physical, mental, emotional or social abuse and lack of family stability is bottled and placed in heaven. The consequences of leaving a child behind to experience and live a lifestyle contrary to what God’s desires; family stability, love, happiness, good health, social wellness, and prosperity can imprint and mark a child to fail in its future.

Jesus Speaks

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus spoke adamantly and confidently concerning the value and importance of each child and the responsibility to look out for them and their well-being. As kingdom citizens and children of the most-high God, we are commanded according to His holy word to “Love thy neighbor as thyself and suffer not the little ones” (Matthew 22:36 – 40, 19:14, King James Version). As a young child growing up watching television, numerous commercials on TV highlighted the dire plight of orphaned and abandoned children around the world. The sight and poor condition of children my age suffering from famine and disease sparked anger and a strong desire in my heart to save every last child. We, as sons and daughters of God, must choose to promote acts of mercy, kindness, compassion, and love towards our neighbors’; the orphaned and abandoned globally.

The Challenge

Today, Jesus is challenging able men, women and two-parent families to consider and follow through with adopting a child. These children want to experience His love through a father and a mother. They desire family unity, improved social conditions and the opportunity to prosper in every area of their life. Statistical research indicates that there are over 140 million orphaned and abandoned children worldwide. There is an urgent need to place children with a family ( Our Heavenly Father reminds us in His Holy Infallible word to care for the orphaned, widow and poor.

Bible Verses About Adoption

James 2:15-16 (KJV) If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, and you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body, what doth it profit?

Isaiah 1:17 (KJV) Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Psalm 82:3 (KJV) Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deuteronomy 10:18 (KJV) He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

John 14:18 (KJV) I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Matthew 19:14 (KJV) But Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 22:36 – 40 (KJV) Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Every Able Body!

Every able individual chosen by God to help the less fortunate represents the light of God! Embracing, accepting and receiving one of God’s little ones to be a part of your family destroys symptoms of hopelessness, fear, doubt, stress, anxiety, discouragement, and sickness. The significant sacrifice to adopt an orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable child pleases and blesses the Lord tremendously. Each time a child is placed in a loving home chosen by God that has a chance to flourish; the heart of God flutters with great excitement and the angels of the Lord rejoice in heaven!

A Chosen Vessel to Adopt

Many of Abba Father’s chosen vessels who walk in His light have felt a prodding in their heart to adopt and expand their families. It is God speaking to each person directly in their heart to do His will for one of His children in need. The embeddedness of God’s heart and His burning desire rest deeply in each man, woman, and two-parent family because He trusts each to be a light for His glory! Trust God to help with provision, knowledge, revelation, wisdom, and truth so that a child’s life is saved and altered to bring forth a positive change. Remember what an individual does for one of God’s little ones, we do it unto the Lord!

Blessed Are The…

The beatitudes in the God’s Holy Word speaks to those who are blessed (Matthew 5:3-11, KJV). Verses seven through eight in the Beatitudes speaks to the soul of a man who does good.

  • Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain
  • Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see
  • Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God (Matthew 5:7-9, KJV).

Your son or daughter is awaiting your arrival to bring them home with you. They want to be a part of the family. May God richly bless each and everyone of you who take the precious step to adopt a child in need!
